In this part, job seeker is exposed to middle level jobs in the Government Ministries and Departments.

TYPES OF GROUP B SERVICES

Group B services from the mid level of the Government Ministries and Department .Some of these services also get an opportunity to enter in to Group A services either through promotion or deputation on seniority-cum-merit basis.

Gazetted Group B Services

The posts category from the upper level of Group B services and are placed just below the upper level ogf Group A services. The posts are notified in the Gazette published by the Government and are empowered to attest the documents as true established by the Government and are empowered to attest the documents as true.

Government Of Indian Ordnance Factories in the Ministry of Defense, Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in Indian Railway, Medical officers in Municipal corporation of Delhi and General Duty Medical Officers in NDMC.

Indian Economic Service – PG Degree in Economic /Applied Economic or Business Economics/ Econometrics

Indian Statistical Service – PG  Degree in Statistical /Applied  Statistics / Mathematical Statistics.

Indian Geologist Examination – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) hold a competitive Examination named

  1. Geologists Examination for recruitment to the posts of:

Category I- (a) Geologist(junior),Group A (b) Assistant Geologist, Group B in the Geological Survey of India.

Category II-(b) Jr. Hydrogeologist , Group A (b) Assistant Hydrogeologist, Group B in the Central Ground Water Board(CGWB).

Geologist Examination

Age limit – 21-32 years as on 1st January

Educational Qualification – Master’s degree in Geology/Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university.

or

Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad;  or Master’s degree in Mineral Exploration from a recognized university(for posts in GSI); or Master’s degree in Hydrogeology from a recognized university (for posts in CGWB) Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam : As already discussed, this exam is conducted by the UPSC for 10+2 passed candidates. This is only exam which gives the 10+2 passed candidates.

  1. Special Class Railway Apprentices’ Examination(SCRA):

  • Notification – February
  • Examination – July
  • Age limit – 17-21 years as on 1st August
  • Educational Qualification – Must have passed in the first or second division , the Intermediate or an equivalent examination of a university or board approved by the Government of India with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects of the examination.

Note : Erstwhile Section officer(Audit),Section Officer(Commercial) exam conducted by staff selection commission will henceforth be conducted by UPSC as per the Government Resolution No.18 dated 10th January 2013.
