Eligibility Criteria and age limit

Age Limit & Relaxation

Candidates aspiring for KVS PRT positions should be under the age of 30. Some categories are eligible for age relaxation.

Here is a tabulated breakdown of the relaxation in age based on categories:

Educational Qualification

  • To apply for the KVS PRT 2022 position, candidate must check the academic qualifications. Look at these below-mentioned points before applying for the KVS PRT Exam:-

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed.)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

OR

Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)*

*Candidates with a Bachelor of Education qualification from any NCTE recognized institution will be considered for appointment as a teacher in Class I-V. However, they must undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the concerned authority within two years of their appointment as a Primary Teacher.

  • Qualification in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (Paper-I) conducted by the Government of India.
  • Proficiency in teaching through both Hindi and English media.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of working with computers. 

 

Exam Pattern

  • Candidates are advised to be familiar with the KVS PRT Exam Pattern before they start their preparation for the KVS PRT Exam.
  • The KVS Primary Teacher Paper comprises four sections, encompassing a total of 180 questions, carrying 180 marks.
  • The test duration is 180 minutes, equivalent to 3 hours.
