Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
- To be eligible for RRB NTPC positions, a candidate must be one of the following:
(1) An Indian citizen.
(2) A subject of Nepal.
(3) A subject of Bhutan.
(4) A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1 January 1962, to permanently settle here.
(5) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia) and Vietnam, to settle in India permanently.
- Note:- For candidates falling under categories 2, 3, 4, and 5, an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India is required. While such candidates may be allowed to take the examination, an offer of appointment will be made only after this eligibility certificate is obtained.

Candidates who have worked in Group ‘C’ or previously held Group ‘D’ positions, as well as those employed as Casual Labourers or Substitutes in the Railways with a minimum of three years of service (whether continuous or intermittent), are eligible. |

Candidates must hold a Graduation degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification as of the closing date for online registration. Those who are awaiting the results of their final examination for the required educational qualification should not apply. Additionally, for the positions of Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist and Senior Clerk Cum Typist, typing proficiency in English or Hindi on a computer is essential. |

Selection Process
Those who want to appear in the RRB NTPC Recruitment will go through the below-mentioned selection process:-
- 1st Computer Based Test
The 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) will be common for all RRB NTPC positions. This screening test will adhere to the educational standards required for the posts. The normalized scores from the 1st Stage CBT will be used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT based on their merit.
- 2nd Computer Based Test
Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT will be shortlisted based on their normalized marks from the 1st Stage CBT. The total number of candidates selected will be 15 times the number of vacancies in each community category as advertised by the RRB, according to their merit in the 1st Stage CBT. However, the Railways reserve the right to adjust this number up or down, either overall or for specific categories, to ensure there are sufficient candidates for all the notified positions.
- Typing Test
Typing Test will be conducted for the various posts such as Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Accounts Clerk Cum Typist and Junior Clerk Cum Typist. According to the RRB NTPC Notification 2024, the details for the RRB NTPC Typing Test is as follows:-
The Typing Skill Test (TST) will be conducted as a qualifying test (marks will not affect final merit).
Candidates will be called in a ratio of eight times the number of vacancies for each community.
Typing Speed Requirement in English is 30 words per minute and in Hindi is 25 WPM.
Must be typed on a personal computer and no editing tools or spell check allowed.
For Hindi Typing Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be provided for the test.
- Document Verification
Candidates will be called for Document Verification based on their performance in the examination. The number of candidates selected for this stage will match the number of vacancies, and they will be chosen according to their merit and preferences.
