Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen first.
- The NSEA Exam is designed for students in Class 12, 11 or 10.
- Date of birth between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2010, both dates inclusive.
- Must be residing and studying in India on or before November 30, 2022. Must be studying in the Indian school system on or before November 30, 2022. OR Must be studying in the Indian school system on or before 30 November 2022.
- Must not have completed (or intend to complete) the Class 12 board examinations before 30 November 2025.
- Must not have commenced (or intend to commence) studies at a university or equivalent institution before 1 June 2024.
- Must not appear in NSEJS 2024.

Syllabus
- It is broadly equivalent to senior secondary level (up to and including Class XII) of CBSE.
- There will be greater emphasis on Physics, Mathematics and elementary Astronomy. Any in-depth knowledge of astronomy is not required.
- However, basic familiarity with astronomical terminology, objects and phenomena, as can be acquired through an interest in astronomy (reading popular books / listening to popular lectures etc.), is expected.
