About This Course
Joining the Army Cadet College (ACC) is a prestigious opportunity for serving soldiers, airmen, and sailors to become commissioned officers in the Indian Army. Here are the detailed criteria and steps to join ACC:
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen.
- Age: Candidates should be between 20 to 27 years old at the time of joining the academy.
- Service: Minimum of 2 years of service in the Army, Navy, or Air Force.
- Education: Must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Gender: Both married and unmarried soldiers can apply.
- Physical and Mental Fitness: Candidates must be physically and mentally fit.
Selection Process
- Written Examination: The ACC exam is conducted twice a year and consists of four papers:
General Mental Ability Test
Current General Awareness
Communicative English
Academic Test (Maths, General Science, Humanities)
- Interview: Candidates who clear the written exam will be interviewed by senior officers for further screening.
- SSB Interview: Selected candidates will undergo the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview.
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a thorough medical examination.
Training
- ACC Wing: Selected candidates will undergo 3 years of training at the ACC Wing, Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.
- IMA: After completing training at the ACC Wing, candidates will undergo 1 year of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA).
