About This Course
Joining the Army Education Corps (AEC) in the Indian Army is a prestigious opportunity. Here are the detailed criteria and steps to become an AEC officer:
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen.
- Age: Generally, candidates should be between 23 to 27 years old.
- Education: A postgraduate degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. Preferred courses include Education, English, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Psychology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, and Foreign Languages.
- Physical and Mental Fitness: Candidates must be physically and mentally fit.
Selection Process
- Examinations: Candidates need to clear the UPSC Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination or the Army Education Corps (AEC) direct entry examination.
- Interview: Candidates who clear the written exam will be interviewed by the Service Selection Board (SSB).
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a thorough medical examination.
