Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
Airforce Group X Eligibility Criteria
The Airforce Group X eligibility criteria is divided into two sections- i) Age Limit and ii) Educational Criteria.
Airforce Group X: Age Limit
The minimum age to apply for the Airforce Group X exam is 17 years
The maximum age to apply for the Airforce Group X exam is 21 years
Airforce Group X: Educational
For Group X (Education Trade Instructor not included)
Passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from an Education Board listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
Passed Three years of Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream, as mentioned on the CASB web portal www.airmenselection.cdac.in.
The candidate should have completed the course from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50 per cent marks in aggregate and 50 per cent marks in English in a diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if
English is not a subject in the Diploma Course)

Candidates should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidates shall be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain. |
Airforce Group Y Eligibility Criteria
The Airforce Group Y exam is conducted for the nontechnical posts in the Indian Air Force. The candidates who want to appear for the IAF Group Y exam must fulfill the eligibility criteria before filling out the IAF Airforce Group Y application form.
Airforce Group Y Age Limit Criteria
- Minimum Age to Appear for Airforce Group Y: 17 Years
- Maximum Age to Appear for Airforce Group Y: 21 Years
Airforce Group Y Educational Criteria
- Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50 per cent marks in English.
OR
- Passed two years of vocational courses from Education Boards listed as COBSE members with minimum 50 per cent marks in aggregate and 50 per cent marks in English in vocational
- course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in a Vocational Course.
For Group Y (Assistant Trade Only)
- Passed 10+2/Intermediate/ equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from an Education Board listed as a COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50 per cent marks in English.
