About This Course
- The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) plays a crucial role for those aspiring to pursue a career in teaching within the government sector.
- It comprises two levels: Primary and Secondary. Conducted nationally twice a year, the CTET exam is now administered in offline mode by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
- Frequency
Twice a Year: The CTET exam is conducted twice a year, once in July and once in December.
- July Session
Application Form Dates: The application form for the July session is typically available from early March to early April.
Exam Date: The exam for the July session is usually held in early July.
- December Session
Application Form Dates: The application form for the December session is generally available from mid-September to mid-October.
Exam Date: The exam for the December session is typically conducted in mid-December.

Eligibility Criteria and age limit
Age Limit
Candidates should be at least 17 years old to apply for the exam, and there is no upper age limit.
Educational Qualification
The eligibility criteria for the TET/CTET exam are as follows:
For Paper-I (Teaching Classes I to V):
- Candidates must have passed the 12th grade (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks.
- They should have passed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or a Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Alternatively, candidates must have completed graduation with at least 50% marks and hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.
For Paper-II (Teaching Classes VI to VIII):
- Candidates must have completed graduation with at least 50% marks.
- They should have passed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), a B.Ed. (Special Education) degree, or a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) with at least 45% marks.
- Alternatively, candidates must have passed the 12th grade (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or be in the final year of either a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), a B.A/B.Sc.Ed, or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Additionally, candidates with a qualified B.Ed. program recognized by the NCTE are eligible to appear in the TET/CTET exam.
Exam Pattern
- The CTET 2024 Exam is conducted in two parts i.e. Paper I (for candidates who want to become teachers for Class 1 to 5) and Paper II (for candidates who want to become teachers for Class 6 to 8).
- Candidates can also apply for both Paper I and Paper II. In both of these papers, the questions are in the form of multiple-choice questions.
- To pass the CTET 2024 Exam, you need to score at least 60%.
