Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 21 to 32 years of age as of the application deadline. Age relaxations apply for reserved categories as per government regulations.

Educational Qualification
- Successfully completed the MBBS degree, including both the written and practical parts of the final year exam, or
- Be appearing for the final MBBS examination in the year of the exam (must complete it by the date of interview).
Selection Process
The selection process for the CMS Exam consists of two main stages:
Written Examination
- The written examination is divided into two papers:
- Paper I: General Medicine and Pediatrics (250 marks)
- Paper II: Surgery, Preventive & Social Medicine, and Gynaecology & Obstetrics (250 marks)
- Both papers are multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and are conducted on the same day. Candidates will have a total of 4 hours to complete both papers combined. Only those who score above the cutoff in the written exam will be eligible for the next stage.
Personality Test (Interview)
- Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for an interview, which tests their suitability for service as a medical officer. The interview typically carries 100 marks. The final selection is based on the combined score of the written exam and the interview.
