Overview

  • Stage 1: IPMAT Aptitude Test (AT) 

This computer-based test assesses a candidate’s aptitude in three key areas: Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA), and Logical Reasoning (LR). It is designed to evaluate a candidate’s problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. The IPMAT is the first step for candidates aspiring to secure a seat in the IPM program.

  • Stage 2: Written Ability Test & Personal Interview (PI) 

Candidates who clear the IPMAT AT move on to the second stage, which comprises a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The WAT evaluates a candidate’s writing skills, while the PI assesses their communication abilities, general awareness, and overall suitability for the IPM program.

Eligibility Criteria

IPMAT Indore: Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 60% in Standard X/ SSC and Standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations (55% for the candidates from SC/ ST/ PwD category)
  • Maximum 20 years of age as on July 31.

IPMAT Rohtak: Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 60% in Standard X/ SSC and Standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations (55% for the candidates from SC/ ST/ PwD category)
  • Maximum 20 years of age as on July 31.

  • As per the IPMAT exam pattern 2025 guidelines, the exam duration is 120 minutes, i.e., 2 hours, andthe IPMAT total marks are 360.
  • There is a sectional time limit for each section.
  • You will be given 40 minutes for each of the three sections.
  • It would help if you answered the sections in a pre-specified order, and the pre-specified order is the same for all exam-appearing aspirants.
  • Candidates are required to clear the sectional IPMAT cut offfrom their respective categories to be considered for PI.

Personal Interview (PI)

  • Only those who score category-wise minimum sectional qualifying marks in the exam will be shortlisted for the personal interview.
  • The admission committee manages the interview round.
  • During the interview, the interviewer tests your confidence levels, communication skills, general awareness, motivational skills, and knowledge.

  • The IPMAT Rohtak question paper will comprise 120 questions, and each question carries 4 marks.
  • Also, there is a negative marking of -1 marks for each wrongly answered question.
  • All the questions will be multiple-choice questions.
  • Unlike IIM Indore, there is no sectional time limit; you can go to any section during your 2-hour exam.
  • Only those who score above the IPMAT cut offwill get shortlisted for the personal interview.
  • During the interview, interviewers assess your academics, general awareness, and communication skills.

IPMAT Rohtak Marking Scheme

  • As per the IPMAT exam pattern, you will be rewarded four marks for every correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer in all the three sections.
  • No marks are allotted or deducted for unattempted questions.
