  • The most recent HP Forest Guard exam was held on 7th November 2021.
  • Regarding the salary, an HP Forest Guard earns a monthly salary ranging from ₹5,910 to ₹20,200, with an initial start of around ₹7,910 per month. Additionally, guards are eligible for various allowances such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Medical Allowance, and Travel Allowance.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • The age limit for the Himachal Pradesh Forest Guard position, as per the HP state government guidelines, is generally between 18 to 30 years.
  • However, there are age relaxations for candidates from reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC, which can extend the upper age limit.

Physical Standards

  • Apart from all other HP Forest Guard Eligibility Requirements, there are certain physical standards also that a candidate needs to meet in order to fill the application form and apply for the post of Forest Guard under the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department.
  • These physical standards are different for different categories of aspirants, the details of which are mentioned in the following table:

  • As per the official notification, the first stage of the HP Forest Guard Recruitment Process will be of a Physical Efficiency Test details of which are mentioned in the following table:

  • Similarly, the second stage of the HP Forest Guard Recruitment Process will be of a Written Examination. The written examination will include 85 questions from different subjects which are mentioned in brief in the given table:

  • Each question will carry one mark.
  • There is no negative marking in the HP Forest Guard Written Examination.
  • The questions will be MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) type.
  • The questions asked in the written exam will be in both English and Hindi language.
  • Candidates will be given a total of 75 minutes to solve the question paper and mark the answers.
  • Candidates must also note that the last stage of HP Forest Guard Recruitment, that is, Document Verification and Evaluation will be of 15 marks.
  • The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in both the HP Forest Guard Written Examination as well as the Document Verification and Evaluation (85+15 = 100 marks).
