About This Course

  • The IGKO (International General Knowledge Olympiad) conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) endeavors to develop interest in General Knowledge and current affairs.
  • With the aim of all round development of a student in academics as well as on a personal level.
  • It helps us to span our knowledge way out of the realms of text books and course curriculum.
  • The SOF IGKO is open to the students of classes 1 to 10.
  • Participants are ranked on the basis of the marks obtained in the test.
  • Students can judge themselves at four different levels the school, at city level, at state level and at international level.
  • The SOF IGKO exam only has one level, the results are announced on four distinct levels: school, city, zonal, and international.
  • Depending on how well students perform at various levels, they get awarded with amazing gifts.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Class Eligibility: The SOF IGKO is a competition for students in grades 1 to 10. Anyone in this grade range can participate and show off their general awareness.
  • School Affiliation:The participating school must be affiliated with a certified education board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), or the State Board. This requirement ensures that the participating schools meet the educational standards necessary to provide a suitable academic environment for the students.
  • Eligibility for Single-level Olympiad Exam: Students from classes 1 to 10 can take part in the SOF IGKO exam. This exam happens in school during school hours, which is easy for all students to join. It’s a good opportunity for students to show their general knowledge aptitude.

Syllabus

  • International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) Workbooks are designed to familiarize students with the type of questions coming in GK Olympiad exams. The Workbook contains chapter-wise multiple choice question bank, followed by answers in the end of the book.
    The syllabus of International General Knowledge Olympiad is divided into four sections for each class 1st to 10th.
    Section 1: General Awareness – topics based on important events around the world
    Section 2: Current Affairs – contains questions from recent events.
    Section 3: Life Skills – topics based on abilities for managing and living a better quality of life.
    Section 4: Achievers Section – contains Higher Order Thinking Skills questions.
