About This Course
What is the INMO Exam?
- The Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) is the third stage of the Indian Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) program. It is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) under the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM). The INMO exam serves as a critical step for students aiming to represent India at the International Mathematical Olympiad.
- The exam tests the mathematical abilities of students from all over the country and provides them with a platform to compete at an international level. Students who qualify the INMO become eligible for training camps and scholarships that further enhance their mathematical skills.
Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
To appear for the INMO exam, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Qualification through RMO:Students must qualify through the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO), which is the first stage of the Olympiad process.
- Age Criteria: Students studying in Class 8 to Class 12 can appear for the INMO. However, there is no strict age limit, provided they are enrolled in a recognized school in India.
- Indian Citizenship:The exam is open only to Indian nationals or students enrolled in Indian schools.
- Exceptional Cases:In rare instances, students who perform exceptionally well in the PRMO (Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad) may be directly invited to take the INMO.
