About This Course
NVS Teaching Exams
- The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) conducts recruitment exams for teaching positions such as TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher), PGT (Post Graduate Teacher), and Principals.
- These exams are held in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, featuring Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options each.
- Each correct answer earns one mark, while each incorrect answer results in a deduction of 0.25 marks
- The previous NVS Teaching exam was held on multiple dates: November and December. These exams were conducted for various teaching positions, including TGT, PGT, and Principal posts.

Selection Process
- The Selection Process for Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Recruitmentincludes the following selection stages for all the posts as mentioned in the notification:
- CBT Written Exam
- Interview (except Librarian)
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination
Exam Pattern
- Candidates need to clear CTET in order to be eligible for NVS Exam.
- The final merit listwill be prepared on the basis of score obtained by the candidate in both the Written exam and the Interview Process.
- No interview process is conducted for the candidates selected for the post of TGT.

OR Possession of a Trade Proficiency Certificate in Catering, accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of service in the regular establishment of Defence Services (for Ex-servicemen only). |
Junior Secretariat Assistant (HQ/RO Cadre) |
Achievement of a Senior Secondary Certificate (Class XII) from a recognized Board and the ability to type at a minimum speed of 30 words per minute in English typewriting or 25 words per minute in Hindi typewriting. OR Successful completion of the +2 level of Senior Secondary from CBSE/State Board with Secretarial Practices and Office Management as Vocational Subjects. |
Junior Secretariat Assistant (JNV Cadre) |
Successful attainment of a Senior Secondary Certificate (Class XII) from a recognized Board, along with demonstrated proficiency in typing at a minimum speed of 30 words per minute in English typewriting or 25 words per minute in Hindi typewriting, is required. Electrician cum Plumber |
Completion of 10th class. Possession of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Certificate in the trade of Electrician/Wireman. Accumulation of at least 2 years’ experience in electrical installation, wiring, or plumbing. |
Lab Attendant |
Completion of 10th class with a certificate or diploma in Laboratory Technique. OR Completion of 12th class with a Science stream from a recognized Board/University. |
Mess Helper |
Successful completion of Matriculation (Class X) from a recognized board. Accumulation of 5 years’ experience working in a Government residential organization’s Mess or school’s Mess. Passing the skill test prescribed by NVS. |

Completion of Class X from a recognized board. |
Selection Process
- Legal Assistant:- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in both the competitive exam and interview. The NVS’s decision regarding the selection mode and eligibility criteria for the interview will be final and binding, with no correspondence entertained in this regard.
- Female Staff Nurse, Assistant Section Officer, Audit Assistant, Junior Translation Officer, Computer Operator, Catering Supervisor, Lab Attendant, and Multi-Tasking Staff:- The selection will be based solely on the candidates’ performance in the Competitive Exam.
- Stenographer, Junior Secretariat Assistant (HQ/RO Cadre), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JNV Cadre), Electrician cum Plumber, and Mess Helper:- Candidates will be shortlisted based on the Competitive Exam and selected candidates will undergo a Trade/Skill Test. This test will be of qualifying nature only and will carry no weightage in the final selection process.
