TYPES OF GROUP C SERVICES
As already Group C service form the base of Government Ministries and Departments. The posts mostly belong to the clerical cadre and there are multiple recruiting agencies for different posts.
Clerical Cadre:
All the post in PBI with a pay band of 5200 to 20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs 1900,Rs 2000, Rs 2400 and Rs 2800 belong to the Group C cadre
Technical Post :
There are many post in the Group C cadre where some additional qualification is required to perform the job .
Non – Technical Post :
The recruitment to this category of posts are open to the candidates from general steam.
Multitasking staff (MTS): Prior to the year 2011 there was a separate Group D class which has been abolished since then and a new category of post has been abolished since then and a new category of post has been included at the entry level in Group c itself.
RECRUITMENT TO GROUP C SERVICE
The details of the recruitment in Group c Services can be discussed on the basis of the specialized recruitment exams conducted by the recruing agencies:
Combined Higher Secondary Level(10+2) examination conducted by SSC : SSC has introduced the Matric level Exam with a new name SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination .
The qualification required for appearing level .
- Skill Test for Data Entry Operator
Data entry Sped prescribed for the post is 8,000 key depressions per hour on Computer. The ‘Speed of 8000 key depression per hour on Computer. The ‘speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words key depressions as per the given passage.
- Typing Test for LDCs
Typing Test will be conducted for those candidates who qualify in the Written Examination. Such typing Test will be conducted in English or Hindi and candidates while applying for the Examination, will be conducted in English or Hindi and candidates while applying for the Examination, will have to indicate his/her choice/option for skill Test Medium in the Application Form .The choice of language in the application will be final and no change will be allowed .
SSC Multitasking staff: Staff Selection Commission holds SSC Multitasking exam every year
Eligibility:
Educational Qualification: Job hunters must have passed Matriculation from any recognized Board.
Age limit: Candidates must be in between 18 years to 25 years of age Relaxation in age will be given as per Govt .rules.
RAILWAY RECRUITMENT BOARD
With 1.4 million people on its roster, the Indian Railway is the eighth largest recruiter in the world .The Indian railways are broadly dived and sub –divided into Zones, divisions and departments, each controlling a particular function.
Mostly the Group B service in the Indian Railways are filled through promotion.
The various recruitments exams conducted by the RRBs on the basis of the regional requirements are as follows:
- Commercial Apprentice

- Traffic Apprentice
Minimum Education Qualification: A Degree in any discipline or its equivalent
Age Limit: 18-33 years

- Goods Guard
Minimum Educational Qualification: A Degree in any discipline or its equivalent.
Typing proficiency @ 30wpm in English or @ 25 wpm in Hindi.
Age limit : 18-33 years.
Exam Pattern : Two stage written exam, Qualifying Typing Test, Followed by verification of documents. No interview.
- Senior Clerk cum Typist :
Minimum Educational Qualification : A Degree in any discipline or its equivalent.
Typing proficiency @ 30 wpm in English or @ 25 wpm in Hindi.
Age limit : 18-33 years
Exam pattern : Two stage written exam, Qualifying Typing Test, followed by verification of documents. No Interview.
- Assistant Station Master
Minimum Educational Qualification : A Degree in any discipline or its equivalent.
Desirable Qualification : Diploma in Rail Transport & Management Economics, Multimodal Transport.
Age Limit: 18 -33 years.
Exam Pattern : Single stage written exam, followed by Aptitude Test & verification of documents. No interview.
- Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist
Minimum Educational Qualification : A degree in any discipline or its equivalent.
Typing proficiency @ 30 wpm in English or @ 25 wpm in Hindi.
Age Limit : 18 -33 years.
Exam Pattern : Two stage written exam, Qualifying Typing Test, followed by verification of documents. No interview.
- Traffic Assistant
Minimum Educational Qualification: A degree in any discipline or its equivalent.
Desirable Qualification : Diploma in Rail Transport & Management, Transport Economic, Multimodal Transport.
Age Limit : 18 -33 years
Exam Pattern : Single stage written examination, followed by Aptitude Test & verification of documents. No internet.
9. Account Clerk cum Typist
Minimum Educational Qualification : Matriculation or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks. SC/ST/Ex.S/PWD candidates who have passes matriculation can apply irrespective of marks obtained by them. Candidates who possess higher qualification can apply irrespective of marks obtained by them in matriculation.
Age limit : 18 – 30 years.
Exam Pattern : Two stage written exam, followed by typing test & verification of documents. No interview.
10. Commercial Clerk :
Minimum Educational Qualification: Matriculation or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks. SC/ST/Ex.S/PWD candidates who have passes matriculation can apply irrespective of marks obtained by them. Candidates who possess higher qualification can apply irrespective of marks obtained by them in matriculation.
Age limit : 18 – 30 years.

11. Ticket Examiner/Ticket Collector
Minimum Educational Qualification : Matriculation or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks. Candidates who possess higher qualification can apply irrespective of marks obtained by them in matriculation.

12. Trains clerk :
