About This Course
- Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HP TET) is a state-level exam conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE), Dharamshala.
- The HPTET conducted by HPBOSE is a state-level exam to determine the eligibility of candidates as the teacher in primary and upper primary levels.
- Frequency
Twice a Year: The HP-TET exam is conducted twice a year, once in June and once in November.

Eligibility Criteria and age limit
Age Limit
The age of the candidates who are applying for HP TET Exam must not be less than 18 years.
However, there is no bar for upper age limit.

(a) B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.). (b)Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.E1.Ed.)/4 years B.A.Ed. (c)B.A./13.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) (Special Education). |
Selection Process
- Candidates appearing for Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HPTET) will be shortlisted on the basis of their score in the HP TET Online Exam.
- HP TET is an eligibility test only which means, qualifying HP TET does not guarantee jobs to the aspirants.
- They have to apply for recruitment at different schools based on the available vacancies which require HP TET Certification for which the candidates must score more or equal to 60% marks in order to get selected.
Exam Pattern
- HP TET is a 150 marks exam that consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each question carries one mark.
- There is no negative marking for wrong answers in the HP TET exam. The duration of the HP TET exam will be 150 minutes.
